How to write an estate agent CV
Your estate agent CV should run to two pages in reverse-chronological format. Open with contact details and a three-sentence personal statement that leads with your strongest sales metric (properties sold, revenue generated, or target achievement). Follow with a skills section naming the CRM and portal systems you know, then your experience section with 3-4 achievement bullets per role, each containing a concrete number. Close with education, qualifications (NAEA/ARLA Propertymark, AML, Right to Rent), and a one-line confirmation that you hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

Writing your experience
Estate agent experience bullets follow a simple pattern: action plus metric. Every bullet should contain a number that proves impact, not just effort. Focus on properties sold and combined value, conversion rates (instruction-to-sale, viewing-to-offer), valuations conducted, instructions won (especially sole agency), revenue generated, and sales progression outcomes (completion time, fall-through rate).

Use action verbs that suit estate agency: completed, generated, exceeded, increased, won, conducted, reduced, built, grew, managed, coordinated, progressed. Avoid passive phrasing like 'responsible for' or 'involved in', you either did it or you did not.
If you work in lettings rather than sales, your bullets should focus on managed property count, occupancy rate, rental income or management fees generated, and tenant retention/renewal percentage. Sales and lettings are distinct sectors, so tailor your CV to the role you are applying for.

Estate agency does not require a degree, but relevant qualifications and compliance training matter. List your NAEA Propertymark or ARLA Propertymark (MARLA) qualification with the level (Level 3 Technical Award is the most common for sales; MARLA for lettings). If you are working towards a qualification, state 'in progress' and the expected completion date.
Include AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and Right to Rent training status. These are increasingly expected by reputable agencies for compliance, and omitting them can raise questions. If you hold RICS membership or are working towards chartered status, include it.
If you have a degree, list it in reverse-chronological order above your school qualifications. Real estate, business, or marketing degrees are relevant but not essential. If you do not have a degree, lead with your Propertymark qualification and any relevant college-level study (BTEC, A-Levels). GCSEs in English and Maths are often expected as a minimum.
Do not list every training course you have ever attended. Focus on qualifications that are recognised in the industry or required for compliance.

Writing 'proficient in CRM systems' without naming the actual software.
Name the systems: 'Reapit CRM, Rightmove Plus, Zoopla ZPG Pro, OnTheMarket.' Recruiters want to know you can hit the ground running on their stack.
Omitting your Propertymark qualification level or stating 'qualified' without specifying NAEA or ARLA.
Be precise: 'NAEA Propertymark Level 3 Technical Award in Sale of Residential Property' or 'ARLA Propertymark (MARLA) qualified.'
For lettings roles, leaving out renewal and retention percentages or managed property count.
