How to write a forklift operator CV
Use a clean, reverse-chronological layout, beginning with your latest job. One page usually gives a new operator enough room; use two pages when relevant employment, training and results genuinely need the space. Choose plain headings, readable type and short bullets. A British CV should not include a photograph or date of birth.

Writing your experience
A duty says what the job involved. An achievement shows what you did, the conditions in which you worked and what happened as a result. Build each bullet around action + scope + outcome. Useful measures include pallets moved, vehicles unloaded, turnaround time, stock-record accuracy, faults reported, checks completed or shifts supported. Take figures from records you trust; do not invent or casually estimate them.

The stronger versions give the employer concrete evidence to assess. Relevant examples can cover manoeuvring in busy industrial areas, moving loaded pallets securely, stacking and unstacking goods, relocating deliveries or transferring stock from storage to loading areas. You might also describe inventory recording, equipment checks and keeping operating routes clear of spills or obstructions.
Where it reflects your experience, explain how you controlled speed, blind spots and visibility around pedestrians or other vehicles. For inspections, name only components you actually checked. Training may cover hydraulics, forks, brakes, alarms, tyres and operator controls, but the CV must describe your own training and work record.
Start bullets with direct verbs such as operated, manoeuvred, moved, stacked, unloaded, inspected, recorded, reported, reduced, coordinated and supported. Remove phrases such as "responsible for", which conceal the action. A senior operator can demonstrate broader scope through workload coordination, procedural support and accurate shift handovers, but should not imply management authority they did not have.
Give percentages enough context to mean something. "Improved efficiency by 15%" raises more questions than it answers. "Reduced average unloading time from 42 to 35 minutes by reorganising bay staging" identifies both the action and the measure. If you lack reliable outcome figures, state defensible scope instead, such as normal vehicle volume, bays covered, shift pattern or load types.

Keep this section exact and easy to verify. Give the awarded title of each qualification or completed training course, the provider recorded on your documentation and the completion date. Recent operator training can appear before older general education when it is more relevant to the vacancy. Do not turn guidance, an employer's procedure or a broad training standard into a personal certificate.
For UK lift-truck operators, employers should ensure that training meets the standards outlined in the L117 ACOP. The training route should include basic instruction in the knowledge and skills needed to operate a lift truck safely and efficiently. It should also include specific job training on the operating principles and controls of the lift truck being used, as well as its intended workplace use. Familiarisation should then take place on the job, under close supervision and in normal working conditions.
